Christmas 25 2007 - Mr & Ms Santa show off gifts Welcome! We are hosting our second annual holiday party on December 25, 2008 for our dearest families, senior citizens, and homeless people who are all deaf, as well nowhere to go to celebrate this wonderful holiday as a big happy family. Last year, we had 55 people including children, attending and they enjoyed the party tremendously. We have attached a few pictures for you to view. They are asking us to host again for 2008.

Our dearest two friends/families had their celebration with us before passed away from breast cancer. Their names are Naomi Phipps and Vicki Summers. They enjoyed our day together. We miss them very much.

We welcome deaf senior citizens because often, their own families are living far away or too busy with their own families. We make sure that they are part of us and have some fun. Christmas 25 2007 - People sit around table

We had about 9 deaf homeless attending. They all received gift certificates for food and restaurants, along with some small items plus a lot of food was provided.

Here are examples of touching stories from last year;

1. A deaf homeless guy, who lost contact with his children. For the first time on December 25, 2007, he got to see his family in 11 years on video phone booth that deaf community center offers for everybody to use at free charge. They were very happy to see each other on TV. He said that was his first special and wonderful holiday day to remember by.

2. A mother and a boy came in, looked very shy. We welcomed them with warm loving hugs. We gave a boy a lot of wonderful gifts. He cried and said it's his first time to have more than one gift.

Christmas 25 2007 - People sit around another table 3. We had a feast dinner. We have a lot of left over so we asked all people to take whatever they want and bring home. There were no small amounts or limit amount to take but to take much as they want to. Surprise, all food ran out except for green beans.

They all took their pictures with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. They all got gifts and gift certificates. We played some fun games and won some more gift certificates. We spent all day (from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) together. It was our first annual holiday together. We are hoping to have it again this coming December 25, 2008.

For the details of this event such as the location and time will be announced at a later date. We are very committed to host this event.
